Winter finally ended and we’re looking forward hopefully to better weather than the summer of 2017.
On Victoria Day we transplanted our giant pumpkins at the farm in Richmond Hill in preparation for your Thanksgiving and Halloween displays. As in Muskoka, it was a beautiful summer day.
After a wet and cool June start, the cottage season was looking like a repeat of the past few years. Thankfully July, August and September enjoyed warmer and sunnier weather than we’ve had for some time and we all had a memorable summer. Fall is here and after Thanksgiving it’s time to start preparing for winter.
Summer has arrived in Muskoka, bypassing Spring altogether. Silver Stream Farms market is open again for the 2015 season. Early warm weather has accelerated the growing season and we have the fresh Ontario asparagus in our produce room now. Rhubarb is ready and it won’t be long before Ontario strawberries are being picked.
