Our market in Port Sandfield is open for the 2019 cottage season as of Thursday May 9th. Please check in frequently as our hours of operation will change as the season progresses. As of Wednesday May 8 the water levels in the cut at Port Sandfield were above the docks.
Winter finally ended and we’re looking forward hopefully to better weather than the summer of 2017.
On Victoria Day we transplanted our giant pumpkins at the farm in Richmond Hill in preparation for your Thanksgiving and Halloween displays. As in Muskoka, it was a beautiful summer day.
Fall has come around again and we are preparing for Thanksgiving and Halloween. After a particularly wet summer the pumpkins are extra large and heavy. Conversely, because of the extreme heat early this fall our local turkey grower has warned us that the fresh turkeys won’t be as big this Thanksgiving.
To be honest, we believe Fall has arrived in other places as well. This is the time of year that we see a lot of day or weekend tourists coming to Muskoka to take pictures of the fabulous Fall colors in the landscapes. Our porch at the Market always seems to attract a few photographs as well!
