After a wet and cool June start, the cottage season was looking like a repeat of the past few years. Thankfully July, August and September enjoyed warmer and sunnier weather than we’ve had for some time and we all had a memorable summer. Fall is here and after Thanksgiving it’s time to start preparing for winter.
We are ready for Thanksgiving in the market. Our pumpkins are harvested and the free-range turkeys are on they’re way.Lots of fall squash and gourds add colour to your table, freshly-picked Ontario apples are perfect for snacking, and don’t forget the PUMPKIN PIE (better get an apple pie while you’re at it). We still have our sweet corn available which is rare for this time of year!
The leaf colour now is excellent as the weather has been beautiful and is forecasted to be this way through Thanksgiving. After that it’s anyone’s guess. I predict snow in our future.
It was great to see all the regular faces and families in the Port Sandfield market this summer and fall and if we don’t see you before we close, we thank you for your support and look forward to seeing everyone again next spring
